Welcome to Donwood Community Aged Care Services Inc, a community based, not for profit, Aged Care facility located in Croydon, Victoria.

We offer a wide range of services for older people. Our premises currently include a Nursing Home, Hostel and Day Centre with respite available in the Nursing Home and Hostel. Currently under construction are six independent living units that will front onto Diana Street.  Completion of these units is expected in October 2008.

We strive to provide all residents with a high standard of care whilst maintaining a homely and compassionate atmosphere.

Nursing Home

The Donwood Nursing Home is a 30 bed high care facility. It comprises 10 single rooms and 10 double rooms. The Nursing Home includes large lounge areas and a central dining area. All meals are provided and prepared by a qualified chef on-site. Residents are also given the opportunity to join in a number of different activities, organised daily.

Hostel

The Diana Street Lodge is a 60 bed low care facility. It consists of three wings including a 30 bed dementia specific section. The Lodge includes large lounge and dining area with all meals provided. Residents can also enjoy a wide variety of activities on offer.

Day Centre

The Donwood Day Centre is designed for individuals who live at home either alone or with a carer, but would like to participate in outside activities. The Day Centre offers individuals an opportunity for social interaction whilst engaging in enjoyable activities that promote mental and physical stimulation.

Respite Care

Donwood offers Respite Care for individuals who live at home with a carer(s). The Respite program gives individuals a caring and comfortable place to stay whilst giving their carer(s) a break. We have 3 respite beds, 2 in the hostel (1 of those being dementia specific) and 1 in the nursing home.

Dementia Specific Facility

The Diana Street Lodge (hostel) has a secure 30 bed dementia specific wing offering 1 respite bed. Known as the Acacia Wing We offer an innovative program for people living with dementia in a bright, modern and secure environment.
